1. Our Planet (2019): 9.3

Its a fantastic documentary that educates us about our own planet. It shows how climate change impacts all living beings. Likewise, this Netflix series is all real footage of the wildlife of the world. 

2. Clarkson’s Farm (2021): 9.2

Follow Jeremy Clarkson as he attempts to run a farm in the countryside. Moreover, with no previous farming experience, Jeremy contends with the worst farming weather in decades, disobedient animals, unresponsive crops, and an unexpected pandemic. This show actually introspects the life of farmers.

3. The Last Dance (2020): 9.1

The Last Dance follows the Bulls 1997-98 season from start to finish. The series takes its name from a phrase coined by then-Bulls coach Phil Jackson, who knew that the season would likely be the final run for the core members of that 1990s Bulls dynasty.

4. Formula 1: Drive to Survive (2019): 8.6

If you have been an F1 fan, then this series is for you. The way this show also expresses drivers perspectives is good to watch. You see the dynamics of individual teams in fast-paced and pressure-packed environments. What struck me was the amount of responsibility every single individual faces at all times.

5. Making a Murderer (2015): 8.6

Filmed over 13 years, this real-life thriller follows the unprecedented story of two men accused of a grisly crime they may not have committed.

6. Hip-Hop Evolution (2016): 8.4

Hip-hop music first developed in the United States in the 1970s and has steadily grown in popularity in the decades since then. This is one of the best put-together documentaries Ive ever seen. This series is for everyone, especially for Hip-Hop fans. I also am a big hip-hop fan and it is extremely entertaining and inspiring to hear an artists perspective.

7. Five Came Back (2017): 8.3

Five acclaimed contemporary directors tell the story of five legendary Hollywood filmmakers who enlisted in the armed forces to document World War II.

8. Explained (2018): 8.1

This enlightening series from Vox digs into a wide range of topics such as the rise of cryptocurrency, why diets fail, and the wild world of K-pop. I love the show. Its hard to find information on some of these topics without running into a bias, but this show really gives every view.

9. The Movies That Made Us (2019): 7.8

This documentary takes you behind the scenes to show you how some classic films were made. This series takes some popular movies from the 1980s and 1990s and tells the stories behind them.

10. How to Become a Tyrant (2021): 7.4

This is an easy-to-watch series on the rise of tyrants in history and if theres any learning that you could see with ones own world.
